IMAGE AND COMIC CULTURES [S1]

The objective of the course is to provide the student with theoretical tools that allow him to analyze the different territories in the history of comics and, above all, to use the discontinuity of the vignettes as an instrument of thought. That is to say, before the image-flow of the cinema, the aerial image of the comic allows a discontinuous thought, it allows to enlighten the link between the imaginary and history from the caesura, the hiatus, in short, its faculty to establish intervals. By virtue of this notion, as defined in the theoretical tradition that extends from Aby Warburg in Georges Didi-Huberman and Giorgio Agamben, it is possible to take a journey through the history of sequential narration that is continually open to a broader understanding of the image and the audiovisual in general.
