ELEMENTS OF STORYTELLING
This module will consist of an introduction to the role and the basic elements of storytelling, while also providing the audience with a series of interviews from people who are engaged in storytelling.
The module starts with a presentation on the history of storytelling in the world, (origin, different genres and the roles it served within the society in different cultures and periods of time). It then offers an account of the important elements of storytelling -according to literary theory- through significant literary examples from the western literary canon but also from minor literatures.
The objective of this module is to provide with various perspectives, academic material and the appropriate tools an introduction to storytelling, empowering thus new potential writers to narrate the stories of their communities.
